for making this magnificent motor you will
require a strong neodymium magnet, a 1.5V battery, a bicycle spoke and a piece of wood.
first take the bicycle spoke and bend it twice at right angles and then screw it in a hole
in the wooden base. now this is your stand. the tip of the spoke should be sharpen into
a point. now attach one end of the wire to the frame. take a strong neodymium magnet
and stick it to the base of the battery. now battery will also act like a magnet. you can
now hang the button of the battery to the sharp tip of the spoke. if you touch the other
end of the wire to the magnet, the circuit will be complete and the battery along with
the magnet will start spinning like a motor. the whole assembly will spin very very fast.
often it might be difficult to make out whether the motor is spinning or not. now you can
attach the paper clip to the magnet which will look like blades of a fan. at a closeup
you can see motor moving much faster. you can also make a geared motor. fix the magnet
to a larger diameter coin and then the battery. now once again hang it and now if you touch
the coin which has larger diameter, then the motor spins slowly. if on the other hand if
you touch the wire to the magnet which has smaller diameter, motor spins much faster.
its kind of a gear mechanism.
